Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines, Kalgoorlie.

The Fimiston Plant is located on the outskirts of Kalgoorlie and is responsible for the treatment of ore mined from the adjacent Super-pit. The existing workshop facilities were expanded to accommodate management's decision to own and operate its own earthmoving fleet. Badenport was responsible for completing the civil works for the expansion.

Badenport's Scope:

Badenport's scope included the following:

• Civil works to the new workshop, including footings, slabs and imbedded longitudinal skid bars. 
• Construction of Oil Farm Facility. Works included walls, slabs, sumps and pump plinths. 
• Construction Separator Facility. Works included walls, slabs and ramps. 
• Construction of Jacking Envelope and Tyre Store slabs. 
• Construction of Open Concrete Lined Drains. 
• Installation of services including piping for air, firewater and storm water.

Project Highlights:

Work was staged to allow existing workshop to remain fully operational.
Total quantity of concrete amounted to 2,500m3.
Fibre reinforcement was used for Workshop, Jacking Envelope and Tyre Store Slabs.
